Plymouth offers a variety of lodging options as well as a variety of interesting historical attractions and outdoor activities. Plymouth bed and breakfasts and Plymouth inns are not only charming but are conveniently located near the popular Killington Ski Area, the Okemo Mountain Recreation Area, and Bridgewater Mill Mall. Plymouth is noteworthy for being the birthplace of Calvin Coolidge, the 30th President of the United States, who is also buried in the town. The President Calvin Coolidge State Historic site preserves the former President's childhood home. Along with the homestead, visitors can check out the Plymouth Cheese Factory that Calvin Coolidge's father established. Various other attractions in the town include the Camp Plymouth State Park on Echo Lake, and the Bear Creek Resort. Camp Plymouth State Park features a camping area, picnic grounds, a sand-covered beach, and boats for rent. Bear Creek Resort offers skiing. Area activities include hiking, cycling, boating, and golf. There are a number of fine golf courses close at hand, such as the JP Larkin Country Club, the Okemo Valley Golf Club, the Tater Hill Resort/Windham Golf Club, the Neshobe Golf Course, the Killington Golf Course, and the Green Mountain National.
